Day Ten (made it!!): “Beware hats and ham sandwiches”
I was challenged by @zoepotterillustrates to post one art pic a day. Normally I don’t do these – I have enough challenges making art ?? – but I was looking for an incentive to get back to making quick studies based on random phrases I’d read and decided to use this #artistchallenge.
The basis for this series of ten pieces has been the section ‘Travelling Well: Top 10 Vintage Tips’ from ‘The Meaning of Travel’ (OUP) by Emily Thomas (@durhamuniversity) . #philosophy #travel (I mangled the tips slightly to obstruct straight google searches!)
It has certainly been a challenge to produce ten pieces using fixed prompts but has also been both enjoyable and instructive. I’ve also managed to rediscover a love of gouache which has been fun: I’ll keep trying to improve my use of it in future sketches, especially combined with oil pastels.

I shall return now to trying to figure out how to paint.
