On our New Zealand holiday, we only stayed one night in Alexandra, as a stop over on the way to Aoraki, and really regretted it. It is a lovely place. The drive in was through some amazing country with stunning rock formations. Then the town itself was nicely spread out and had a really relaxed feel to it. We could have happily spent several days exploring the area around there.
After we settled in at our motel, we drove up into the hills and I took the two shots below. The normal one is down into the town looking at the bridge we crossed on the way in. The second is a 12-shot panorama. It was magic up there. A cool evening standing on a high point looking out over the town on one side and hills and moorlands on the other. The best part, though, is that the hills are covered in wild thyme; the smell up there was incredible.
I think it is obvious from these shots that I need to learn how to adjust my photographs using Photoshop rather than Lightroom, the latter is just too broad a brush.
